Nemo 33 | Scuba Dive in the Worlds Largest Pool

Have you heard about Nemo 33? Not many have! So what is Nemo 33? Well, it's the largest and deepest swimming pool in the world.

Located in Brussels, Belgium– the pool was created by a Belgium civil engineer named John Ceernaerts– his vision was to have a gigantic indoor diving complex, full of crazy underwater tunnels and chambers.

The pool opened in 2004 after almost 7 years of being in construction. Nemo 33 is essitaly the type of pool you can get lost in if you are not careful.

The pool is 33m deep  and is kept at 33 degrees Celsius (91 F)- The water that fills the pool comes from a spa and it’s heated by solar panels to keep it nice and warm. The pool contains 2.5 million liters of non-chlorinated, highly filtered spring water.

Once you get to the bottom of the pool, is when you will find loads of cool passage ways, tunnels and rooms. There are numerous underwater windows that allow outside visitors to look into the pools at various depths.

There are 2 pools, 2 pits (5, 10 and 33 m), caves at -10m, three permanent belles of air under pressure (-9m, -7m, air renewed permanently); 250 anchoring points in the tank to: change the aspect of the swimming pool (for the amateurs), adapt it for film shooting, adapt it for scientists and technicians

The diving pool is open to everyone from serious open water divers, deep sea advanced divers and beginners. Tourists, parties and more are welcome as well. Nemo 33 also features a restaurant, aquagym classes, hydrotherapy, deep sea diving, group packages and more.

Since 2004, over 100,000 divers have visited Nemo with plenty of room for film sets/shoots and scientific research.
