One of the most elusive shrimps on the reef is the emperor shrimp. These colorful shrimp are often very skittish when it comes to photographers. They tend to hitchhike on their host, usually a sea cucumber or a nudibranch. I was able to capture some good footage of these beautiful creatures on a recent visit to Papua New Guinea. The female shrimps are the larger and usually more colorful than the male shrimp. What makes the shrimp so elusive is they tend to hide on the underside of their hosts. Enjoy watching!
