Ghost Pipefish of Papua New Guinea

by

Ultra-sensitive to light with an ability to blend into the background, ghost pipefish are one of the most difficult ocean animals to film. Check out this short video on these beautiful animals.

Ghost pipefish are one of the most difficult ocean animals to film. They are ultra-sensitive to light, so when you try to video them, it can be very frustrating. These magnificent creatures belong to the seahorse family. They can be hard to find, and require a good eye to spot them. They blend in amazingly well to their environment; often you’ll find them next crinoids, but they are also found in other areas of the reef. Check out this short video on these beautiful animals.
