As you know the finalist for this contest were announced a couple of weeks ago. We are proud of everyone involved, all entries were unique and everyone told their story in such creative ways.

Today both Utila Dive Centre &  Scuba Diver Life are excited to announce Elle Leontiev as our first place winner.
Elle will receive training to be a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer with Utila Dive Centre, a full set of equipment from Scubapro, training as a Beautiful Oceans Science Instructor including all materials and application fees, and a Sealife digital underwater camera.

Second prize will go to Carey Satin, whom also did an amazing job. Carey will receive training to PADI Divemaster in Utila, Honduras with Utila Dive Centre , including all PADI materials, application fees, and a Sealife digital underwater camera.

The standard of all entrants exceeded our expectations, and although objective criteria was used to create a shortlist and evaluate the final winners, we even consulted with our industry peers for further input and validation.

Although it can be very challenging to convey in a 2 minute video the criteria that we had listed, we felt that the winning videos and entrants, had the strongest messages and statements that would resonated with the ‘Scuba Diver Life’ and would benefit future divers, and most importantly our marine environment, with both winners having backgrounds and/or track records in marine conservation.

Best,

Scuba Diver Life & Utila Dive Centre
